The golden sunlight slowly crawls down into the valley, warming the chill morning air, enhancing the beauty of the valley as colors brighten and details sharpen. A new day begins, and this is one of my favorite times to do my devotions and to reflect on the events of the day to come. These times are necessary when the days are as full as they are here at Camp Bighorn. In the three weeks that I have been here I have scrambled up mountains in the dark, experienced the thrill of crashing down rapids in a kayak, scaled cliffs and so much more. It is difficult to capture the totality of the amazing experience with just words, and sometimes pictures are not even sufficient. I have embarked on relational journeys with the people here that I sincerely hope extend beyond this year. I have witnessed God’s beauty in his creation and have been drawn into deeper intimacy with him. Through the adventures I have discovered what it means to be challenged and stretched in order to grow. The chapel sessions are stimulating and the teaching is challenging. I feel completely accepted here but beyond that I know that our interns and teachers push us to be more out of sincere love and a desire to see our relationship with Christ flourish. Though I have only been here for a short time, I have experienced enough to consider myself extremely blessed to be a part of the Explore community and I cannot wait to see how God works in my life and in the lives of those around me this year.
